2010 Homeless Champions welcomes Megaphone Magazine to the Media Co-op

Downtown Eastside Megaphone Magazine has joined with www.2010homelesschampions.ca to carry the message to the world. SEAN from megaphone sat down with SEAN from Homelesschampions to discuss the idea of a media co-op by featuring Megaphone Magazine as the first participating grassroots media organization on our site, We both feel and have the vision that getting the story out, is more important to the cause than ego’s or insecurities. I sat with him for an hour and talked about megaphone’s history in the Downtown Eastside and their mandate. Sean shared that this Friday June 12 2009 will be their one year anniversary of the publication and they will be having a fundraiser at the Interurban Art Gallery at the corner of Hastings and Carroll streets from six pm until midnight.
